A stay at Cirm, a French scientific research hub, can encourage young people to take up scientific careers. For secondary school students, coming to Cirm is an opportunity that can have a lasting influence on their future. Several schemes exist to date and differ greatly in duration and target audience.
Les Cigales: this school was launched in October 2019 and aims to participate in the dissemination of scientific culture and spirit while fighting against the disaffection of women for this theme. The stay is fully covered by the organizers thanks to the support of the many partners of the project.
2019: 17 (Academy of Aix-Marseille)
2020: 26 (Academies of Aix-Marseille and Lyon)
2021: 22 (Academies of Aix-Marseille and Lyon)
2022: two editions, in April and October, to meet the growing demand!
Cirm dissemination days: since 2013, Cirm has been organizing dissemination events dedicated to middle and high school students, such as the ‘Mercredis mathématiques’.
It has decided to continue this action in 2021, on the occasion of the 40th anniversary ceremony of Cirm in October, by creating a whole day of scientific dissemination dedicated to high school students of the Aix-Marseille Academy. The first day took place in 2021 and will be repeated in October 2022.
Science Festival: in 2022, for the first time, Cirm took part in the Science Festival by proposing a stand of mathematical activities during two days on October 14 and 15, Espace Villeneuve Bargemon in Marseille.
