INFORMATION

CONFERENCES
Lasting 5 days, their aim is to give researchers in mathematical sciences the opportunity to present recent research results and to initiate future collaborative research projects.

The selection criteria are that a conference should have high scientific merit and be at the forefront of current developments. Interdisciplinarity is also important and conferences should have the highest quality leadership and attract international participation.

CIRM favours teams of organizers which are international,  gender-balanced and with diverse experience (i.e a mixture of early career researchers and more mature researchers).

Proposals should be sent 18-24 months before a conference is due to take place.

Calls for applications are published twice a year for partly subsidized conferences, with deadlines around the end of March and September. They are studied by the Scientific committee.

Other proposals for self-sponsored conferences can be sent throughout the year and are also studied by the Scientific committee.

RESEARCH SCHOOLS
Lasting 5 days, their aim is to give young researchers the opportunity to gather and meet more established researchers, discuss some of their recent results and initiate new collaborations.

Courses and  lectures are presented by senior scientists. Younger participants present their findings either orally or through the use of posters. By gathering different generations from different areas, the aim of these events is to build bridges and cross-fertilize ideas.

Some Research Schools are linked to the LaBex CARMIN (Excellence Initiative) and serve as launching weeks for some of the longer IHP*  trimesters. Others are linked and partly sponsored by the Société Mathématique de France.
