CIRM hosts a number of Research Schools throughout the year. Lasting 5 days, their aim is to give young researchers the opportunity to meet and discuss some of their recent results and initiate new collaborations.
During their week at CIRM, Research Schools participants can meet other young researchers as well as more senior scientists, they can listen to lectures and also present their findings either orally or through the use of posters. By gathering different generations from different areas, the aim of these events is to build bridges and cross-fertilize ideas.
Some Research Schools are linked to the LaBex CARMIN (Excellence Initiative) and serve as launching weeks for some of the longer IHP* or IHES** programmes.
Research Schools take time to plan and organize. This is why proposals need to be sent 18-24 months before an event is due to take place. Calls for proposals are published twice a year by CIRM with deadlines around the end of March and September.
